Around the World Challenge #11 – Surf’s Up in Fiji!

I had two choices: take a mid-table club and maintain their status in the Fijian National League or take it up a notch and manage a title-challenging club who will play in the Oceania Champions League this season.

I took the latter.

Season Expectations

Last season, they were only two points off eventual champions Suva FC. At least it was a welcome respite from the usual “getting a team back into the top division of the country”.

So, the pressure is on for me, to challenge for the title once again. The board also expected me to reach the final for both cup competitions. They did not care much for the Interdistrict Championship though.

The media somehow put Ba as the favourites to win the title. Probably because Nadroga and Suva had the Continental Cup competition to take care of as well.

Speaking of the Oceania Champions League, we have yet to receive our group stage draw. Stay tuned for it in the next post!

We essentially need  more players for all positions, for depth of course.

Good thing is the squad was already pretty good for title challengers. Here are our best players, according to our assistant manager:

Naisua here is a right-footed winger who can also play on the left side of the field. Pacey but lacks brute strength. His passing leaves much to be desired as well.

Next up is Singh, who is a natural as a central attacking midfielder but can also play in the middle of the park. He will probably be the pivot of the team with his flair and passing.fm_2017-01-07_21-41-01

Finally, we have Alvin, who will help us in winning the midfield battle and getting the ball back quickly. His passing is pretty awful and his mentals are atypical for his position

That’s all for now but our next post will be about our preseason.

The database I used for this save is the  FM17 Megapack 155 Updates by claassen . It does have more nations to choose from than the version that I have for this save.
